With over 300 days of sunshine per year, the Languedoc-Roussillon is ideal for a golfing holiday. There are 14 courses in beautiful locations, all open to tourists at reasonable costs. In fact the golf here in this part of France quite often offers the best value in Europe.

Our closest golf course is Beziers Golf de Saint Thomas, designed by Patrice Lambert - an 18 hole 6130 metre course par 72. Travelling time from Berges du Canal, approx 20 minutes.

Carcassonne is situated about an hour away. Golf de Carcassonne, 18 holes 5800 metres par 71, is a favourite with many golfers visiting the region.

Carcassonne's first holeSituated high above the Medieval Cite, Carcassonne Golf Club commands views that are bound to impress. It's par 71 layout is a good test for golfers of any standard. The course combines subtle changes in elevation with tree lined fairways. The greens are fast with borrows galore - a great test of your putting prowess. Also included in its make up are 5 dog legs. The home holes, 9 and 18 are par 3 with elevated tees, the 5th is a demanding drive over a lake. Be prepared for a brutal opening hole - you drive up a very steep hill with a long second shot to the green. Carcassonne is a rare gem, hidden in the hills of the Aude.

Past Beziers towards the Med is Golf du Cap d'Agde, 2 courses designed by Ronald Fream - an international 18 hole and a 9 hole for beginners. The 18 hole course is 6279 metres and par 72

Near Montpellier is the golf course of Fontcaude, designed by Chris Pittman. It is a 27 hole course comprising an international 18 hole course (6250m, par 72), and a 9 hole compact/mini  'Executive' course;
The 18 hole course is slightly hilly, and quite technically challenging.
The 9 hole course is compact/mini (1290m long par 29)

Nimes golf

At Nimes is the Golf de Nimes Vacquerolles, a hilly course designed by Bill Baker. 18 holes, par 72 and 6260 metres. Situated just 10 minutes from Nimes centre and 35 minutes from Montpellier.

Lamalou-les-Bains is a 9 hole course, 2600 metres par 35. Beautifully located in the Nature Reserve of Haut Langueoc, about a 45 minute drive from Berges du Canal
