Lamalou les Bains is a 17th century Spa Town situated in the heart of the Regional Park, just 35 km from Beziers. As well as the thermal spas the location is ideal for nature lovers and walkers, and for golfers there is a 9 hole golf course in a beautiful setting.

Lamalou les Bains

Lamalou is a lovely little spa town located in the Orb valley between the mountains and the Mediterranean. It has a population of around 2000 and is quite lively in season, but out of season it is a place to come for relaxation and quiet.

It has a good choice of restaurants, bars and even a casino. Visit the Mary John barMary John bar Lamalou for their excellent choice in beers, I recommend the Mongozo coconut beer! One of the bars often has live music on a Friday evening. The restaurant in the Casino offers great value for money, we recently had a fantastic 3 course dinner here for just 12 euros each! Amongst the other eateries is a rather nice tea room with a huge menu of teas, but our favourite by far is the restaurant 'Petite Abbaye' The Moules cooked in the pizza oven and drowned in garlic and cheese are to die for!

The tourist information office provides walking routes if you fancy exploring the surrounding hills, aa walk in Lamalound they often organise guided walks. The walk up to Notre Dame de Capimont rewards you with lovely views over Lamalou and the golf course, see here for some photo's.

During July & August the public open air swimming pool is open. There is also a tennis club in the town. The 9 hole golf course is in a spectacular setting, and the restaurant at the golf club serves good food with lovely views.

Lamalou les Bains is famous for it's thermal waters, with it's natural springs. Why not treat yourself to a spa treatment whilst here? enquire for details

Not to be missed is the weekly market on a Tuesday, which has a slightly hippy and organic feel.

Opera in Lamalou les Bains - July and August sees the very popular operetta festival in town. The venue is the theatre in the casino.

Our accommodation here for holiday rentals consists of a studio in the heart of the town, and a detached villa on the outskirts. We are able to provide wine tasting excursions from here, into the Faugeres wine region.
