How to get to the Herault region in the Languedoc

The Languedoc region is served well by low cost flights - airports here include Beziers, Montpellier, Perpignan, Carcassone and Nimes. The TGV stops at our local train station Beziers, and if you prefer to drive there is great access via the motorways, or autoroutes in France

Train travel

The French rail network is highly efficient and almost always on time.

You can pick up the TGV in Paris (Gare du Lyon) to Montpellier, Sete, Agde, Beziers and Narbonne, with a direct service at least once per day. Book a Eurostar from London to Paris and you will arrive relaxed - as they say in the UK let the train take the strain! The Eurostar arrives at the Gare du Nord and the TGV departs from the Gare du Lyon, I recommend you allow an hour connection time. Journey time from Paris to Beziers is approx 4 hours 15 minutes

Driving

You can reach the Languedoc in approximately 10 hours from Calais, by motorway. Norfolk Line usually have the best fares, sailing from Dover to Dunkerque, but it pays to shop around. Useful links - routeplanner to get you here and this link takes you to the local autoroute

If you want to break your journey we are happy to recommend stopovers. We often use the Ibis Hotels as the rooms are clean, comfortable and good value and they usually have an on site restaurant which saves driving out again for dinner - which is the last thing you'll want to do after hours in the car. You can book an overnight stop at an Ibis Hotel - or any hotel within the Accor group by clicking on this link
